Polynucleotides: collagen building with DNA building blocks

Polynucleotides, also known as PDRN, are purified DNA fragments derived from salmon. The product we use is called PhilArt®. Finely injected into the skin as a gel, polynucleotides stimulate the fibroblasts – the cells that produce collagen and elastin. At the same time, they bind moisture. The result builds up over several weeks, and the skin looks denser, smoother and more rested.

Skin quality instead of volume

In Korea and the UK, polynucleotides have been standard for years, and they are now also available at Perfect Skin Berlin. Unlike a hyaluronic acid filler, polynucleotides do not add volume. Your face therefore doesn’t look puffed up – instead, the skin itself becomes firmer and fresher. The treatment is particularly popular for the eye area, neck and décolleté.

After a polynucleotide therapy such as PhilArt, the skin is in an active regeneration phase. To specifically support cell stimulation, new collagen formation and skin structure, we recommend selected skincare products from the asumi range:

Skin analysis and consultation

We examine your skin, discuss your goal and ask about intolerances and medication. Because PhilArt® is derived from salmon DNA, we check beforehand whether you have a fish allergy.

Preparing the skin

The skin is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected. If you wish, we apply a numbing cream to make the treatment more comfortable.

The treatment

We inject the gel finely into the skin using the 5-point technique. A session takes about 20 minutes.

Aftercare and treatment course

Slight redness or small swellings at the injection points are possible and usually subside within hours to a few days. Afterwards, avoid direct sun, use daily sun protection with SPF 30 or higher and pause retinol and fruit acids. We recommend a course of two to three treatments between fall and spring.

How many treatments do I need?

We usually recommend a course of two to three treatments. A refresher after about three months makes sense. We define the exact plan after the skin analysis.

Why do you only treat from fall to spring?

During the regeneration phase, the skin should not be exposed to direct sunlight. That’s why we treat during the darker months of the year. If you want to do something for your skin quality in summer, a skin booster is a good choice.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment is generally perceived as well tolerated. If you wish, we apply a numbing cream beforehand. You are most likely to feel the injections under the eyes.

Who is the treatment not suitable for?

We do not treat during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with acute skin inflammation in the treatment area or if you have a fish allergy. We go through these points with you in a consultation beforehand.
