In RF needling, fine needles penetrate to precisely defined depths of the skin and deliver targeted radiofrequency energy there. The dermis is heated in a controlled way, collagen fibers contract and the skin is tightened immediately. Radiofrequency microneedling - how does it work?

Gentlo fractional microneedling RF is an innovative, low-pain anti-aging treatment that gently delivers visibly younger, firmer skin. Scars, acne scars and stretch marks can also be treated successfully.
Because the needles pass “cold” through the outer layer of skin and only release heat in the deeper layers, Gentlo treatments are low in pain and are usually performed without anesthesia. Depending on the intensity of the individual treatment, patients can expect no or only short recovery times.
The penetration depth of the needles can be set continuously between 0.5 and 3.5 mm. The intensity of the radiofrequency pulse can be adjusted individually to the patient’s skin in terms of energy level and pulse duration.

How is RF needling different from classic microneedling?

RF needling combines fine microneedles with targeted radiofrequency energy. This means the treatment works not only on the surface but also in deeper layers of the skin, achieving more intensive tightening and regeneration effects.

Treatment process

During the treatment, a so-called coagulation zone forms in the collagen layer of the treated skin area. As a result, the body’s own skin renewal mechanisms are activated naturally. This triggers the release of growth factors, while collagen and elastin stem cells are stimulated at the same time (collagen neogenesis).
The denatured collagen is then gradually broken down by the body and replaced with new collagen. This not only creates new elastic fibers – the amount of collagen fibers also increases many times over. As a result of the treatment, fine wrinkles and lines can disappear and deeper wrinkles can be visibly reduced. The skin is plumped from within and takes on a firmer, fuller appearance.

Healing process, downtime and result

Depending on skin type and treatment intensity, slight redness and swelling may occur and last 1-3 days. Slight scaling may also occur during this time. These side effects can easily be concealed with a little make-up.

An initial tightening effect can already be noticed after the treatment. The skin continues to improve over the following weeks as new collagen formation is stimulated for the long term.
