Jawline & Chin with Hyaluronic Acid for Men
A clear, strong jawline is considered one of the most powerful features of a masculine face. It stands for presence and definition. Not everyone has one naturally, and over the years the contour also loses its sharpness: the tissue sags and the transition between neck and jaw becomes blurred. With cross-linked hyaluronic acid, this structure can be rebuilt in a targeted way, provided you understand the anatomy of the lower jaw and choose the right, firm material. At Perfect Skin MED, every build-up is planned and placed by a physician: along the bony edge of the jaw and at the right depth, for a contour that looks more angular and defined and still unmistakably like you.
Termin buchen- Type of treatment
- Physician-led contour build-up with firm, highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid (medical device)
- Treatment duration
- 30 to 60 minutes including analysis; depending on the goal, two to five milliliters distributed across jawline and chin
- Recommendation
- Usually one session per build-up, if needed a layered build-up over two appointments. Follow-up check after about two weeks.
- Recovery
- Usually back to your routine immediately. Swelling, a feeling of pressure or small bruises are possible for two to five days.
“A masculine jawline is not created with more material, but with structure at the right points: jaw angle, jawline, chin. I build on the bone, not into the soft tissue, with a firm hyaluronic acid that supports the contour instead of puffing it up. The goal is a clear line from ear to chin that makes your face look stronger without anyone being able to tell you had a treatment.”

What Makes a Masculine Jawline
Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the body that binds water and gives tissue volume and firmness. For contour building, cross-linked hyaluronic acid is used, a medical device. At the jaw, what matters is not the amount, but the right choice of material and placement on the bone. That is exactly what distinguishes a masculine, natural result from a puffy, overdone look.
Why firm fillers.
Fillers differ in how firm or fluid they are. Experts speak of G-prime, which describes how well a filler holds its shape under pressure. The jawline needs a material with a high G-prime that withstands the strong chewing and muscle forces in the male lower jaw, does not shift and supports the contour like a pillar. A soft hyaluronic acid, like the kind used for lips or skin quality, would only add padding here, and the line would become soft and wide instead of angular. Choosing the right material for the right layer is the core of the physician’s work.
Male anatomy: angle and projection.
A masculine lower face follows different proportions than a feminine one. Three zones are decisive:
- Jaw angle: In men, the ideal angle tends to be around 90 to 100 degrees, which creates the angular impression. Firm deposits on the periosteum accentuate the angle and widen the distance between the two jaw angles.
- Jawline: Along the edge of the lower jaw, a clear, continuous line is created from ear to chin that visibly separates face and neck.
- Chin: A masculine chin needs length and width. That is why we build up not only the tip of the chin but also the lateral zones, for a shape that is more square than pointed.
Together, these points create a continuous, defined lower jaw border. For men, the goal is wider and more angular, while for women a narrow, pointed V-shape is usually the aim. This is a fundamental difference in planning.
Technique and safety.
We work with fine needles directly at the level of the periosteum and with blunt cannulas along the jawline. The cannula pushes blood vessels aside instead of piercing them, which reduces the risk of bruising and vascular occlusion. This is important in this region, because the facial artery and the marginal branch of the facial nerve run along the lower jaw. Knowing their location with certainty and planning around it is a physician’s work. For emergencies, we keep an enzyme on hand that can dissolve hyaluronic acid in a targeted way.
Tighten first, then build up.
If the lower face has lost firmness or there is a fat deposit under the chin, tightening often comes first. On a tightened foundation, the hyaluronic acid build-up looks clearer. Read more on our page Double Chin & Contour with ThermaDAS.
- Structure instead of padding: firm hyaluronic acid on the bone builds contour instead of puffing up tissue
- Planned to be masculine: jaw angle, jawline and chin following male proportions
- Physician-led and reversible: anatomically safe technique with an enzyme as a safety net
Building a clear, continuous contour from ear to chin.
More projection and length create a balanced profile.
The angle is accentuated for an angular, more square impression.
The sagging, blurred jawline is rebuilt.
Chin, jaw and neck-chin angle are brought into balance.

Won't it look overfilled?
A puffy look is caused by material that is too soft, too much volume or incorrect placement in the soft tissue. We work structurally: firm hyaluronic acid on the bone, along the natural edge of the jaw, following male proportions. The result is a clearer contour. Most people notice a more striking face without recognizing the reason.
How much hyaluronic acid does a man's jawline need?
That depends on your starting point and your goal. For a visible build-up of jaw angle, jawline and chin, men often need three to five milliliters, distributed across both sides and the chin and sometimes built up over two sessions. We dose according to the contour rather than a set number of milliliters, and would rather go step by step than do too much at once.
Does it hurt, and how much downtime will I have?
Most men find the treatment very tolerable. The fillers usually contain an anesthetic, and cannulas are gentle on the tissue. As a rule, there is no real downtime. Swelling, a feeling of pressure or small bruises at the injection sites are possible for two to five days. Before important appointments, it is best to plan a few days of buffer.
How long does the result last?
Firm fillers in areas with little movement, such as the jaw angle and chin, last comparatively long, usually around 12 to 18 months. Hyaluronic acid is broken down slowly and completely by the body. A touch-up is possible at any time and then often requires less material.
Filler or chin implant?
An implant is permanent, but it requires surgery and cannot easily be reversed. Hyaluronic acid requires no surgery, is visible immediately, adjustable and can be dissolved again with an enzyme. If you want very strong, permanent projection, we will talk honestly about where the limits of fillers lie.
Can I combine the build-up with ThermaDAS?
Yes, and that is often the best order. First the lower face is tightened with ThermaDAS Endolifting, then we build up the chin and jawline with hyaluronic acid. On the tightened foundation, the new contour looks clearer.
Who is the treatment not suitable for?
We advise against it during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in the case of acute infections in the treatment area, certain autoimmune diseases or a known intolerance. Anatomically, too, not every goal can sensibly be achieved with filler. In a medical consultation, we determine what is right for your face.
WHO IS A JAWLINE AND CHIN BUILD-UP SUITABLE FOR?
- Men with a naturally soft jawline or a chin with little projection who want more definition
- Men whose contour is losing its sharpness over the years, with a blurred jawline or the beginnings of jowls
- Men looking for a more angular, more masculine overall look without surgery or an implant
- Men for whom medical planning, anatomical safety and a reversible, adjustable result are important
In a medical consultation, we work out together whether a jawline and chin build-up will achieve your goal or whether a combination within Perfect Skin MED for Men makes more sense, for example with wrinkle treatment for the upper face or with skin boosters for skin quality.
RECOVERY & DOWNTIME: QUICK FACTS
- Days 1 to 2: Swelling and a feeling of pressure at the jaw and chin are normal, and small bruises are possible. You are usually back to your routine immediately; the contour looks slightly fuller at first.
- Days 3 to 5: The swelling subsides noticeably and the bruises fade. The line becomes more defined and more natural.
- Weeks 1 to 2: The hyaluronic acid integrates into the tissue and the final result becomes visible. This is the right time for the follow-up check and, if needed, the second build-up step.
- Long term: At the jaw angle and chin, the result usually lasts 12 to 18 months. A touch-up is possible at any time, often with less material.
Jawline for Men in Berlin: Why Contour Is a Question of Anatomy
A striking jawline is one of the most sought-after aesthetic goals among men, and it is one of the areas where treatment for men and women differs most clearly. Women often aim for a narrow, tapering V-shape; for men, it is the opposite: a wider, more angular contour that radiates strength and presence. This is achieved with cross-linked hyaluronic acid, built up by a physician at the structural points of the lower jaw, without surgery, visible immediately and reversible.
Material science: why the firmness of the filler is decisive
Not every hyaluronic acid is suitable for the jawline. Fillers differ in their cross-linking and in how firm they remain under pressure. Experts call this shape stability G-prime. The strong muscle and chewing forces in the male lower face call for a material with a high G-prime that withstands the pressure, does not migrate and supports the contour. A soft, highly water-binding hyaluronic acid, like the kind used for lips or skin quality, would only add padding here and blur the line. Choosing the right material for the right layer is therefore not a minor detail, but the very essence of the physician’s work.
Safety at the lower jaw
The lower jaw is an anatomically demanding region, because the facial artery and the marginal branch of the facial nerve run along its edge. A safe build-up requires precise anatomical knowledge, the right depth and a gentle technique. That is why, at Perfect Skin MED in Berlin, the treatment is in a physician’s hands, with a thorough briefing, sterile conditions and an enzyme as a safety net. Because hyaluronic acid can be dissolved again, the result remains adjustable, unlike with an implant or a permanent filler.
Part of a concept for men
For many men, the jawline is the second step after wrinkle treatment, and the two complement each other: at the top, tension is released; at the bottom, hyaluronic acid builds structure. If the lower face has lost firmness, tightening with ThermaDAS Endolifting often comes first. If you want to tackle contour, skin quality and energy as one plan, you will find everything in the premium concept Non-Surgical Lifting and Longevity.
