Before the treatment, the doctor analyzes skin structure, tissue elasticity and facial proportions. Together, it is determined which areas should be lifted and how a natural result can be achieved.

Preparation of the treatment

The skin is prepared and anesthetized locally.

The areas to be treated are disinfected and prepared with a local anesthetic so that the treatment is as pleasant as possible.

Insertion of the threads

Absorbable special threads are precisely placed.

Special threads are inserted under the skin via fine cannulas. These gently lift sagging tissue structures and stabilize the contours.

Immediate lifting effect & collagen build-up

The face looks firmer and more defined.

The lifting effect is usually immediately visible. In the following weeks, the threads also stimulate the body’s own collagen production, which further improves the skin structure.

What is thread lifting?

In a thread lift, ultra-fine, self-dissolving threads made of polydioxanone (PDO) or poly-L-lactic acid are inserted under the skin. They work on two levels:

Immediate lifting effect through mechanical lifting of sagging areas (e.g., cheeks, jawline, eyebrows, neck)
Long-term skin tightening through stimulation of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the deeper layers

The threads dissolve on their own after a few months – but the effect remains: your skin looks smoother, denser and visibly rejuvenated.

What exactly happens during a thread lift?

In thread lifting, absorbable threads are inserted under the skin, which gently lift sagging areas and at the same time stimulate the body’s own collagen formation. This creates an immediate effect – and a long-term effect that improves the skin structure in the long term.

Am I socially acceptable again immediately after the treatment?

As a rule, yes. Slight swelling, feelings of tension or small bruising may occur, but usually subside within a few days. Many patients are ready to work again the following day.

How long does the result last?

The threads dissolve after about 6 months – but the lifting and tightening effect remains for up to 12-18 months due to the stimulated new collagen formation . A refresher is not advisable until after one year at the earliest.

Does a thread lift hurt?

The treatment is carried out under local anesthesia, which makes it very well tolerated. You hardly feel the insertion of the stitches – possibly a slight pulling or feeling of pressure. If desired, a soothing cream can also be applied.

Who is thread lifting suitable for?

For women and men who want a visible lift without wanting to undergo a surgical facelift. Ideal for sagging contours, sagging cheeks, nasolabial folds or sunken cheeks – as early as the 30s.

Are there any risks or side effects?

As with any minimally invasive treatment, swelling, redness or small hematomas may occur. Thanks to the experience of Dr. Redka-Swoboda, who is also trained as a troubleshooter in case of complications , the risk is minimal with us. The threads themselves are biocompatible and completely degradable.

Can a thread lift be combined with other treatments?

Yes – and very effectively. We often combine thread lifting with Botox, hyaluronic acid fillers or PRP to achieve a harmonious, rejuvenated overall result. During your consultation, we create an individual concept for you.
