I’m getting a hair booster treatment with Ioana to get more hair again, and I’m very happy.
Neck lift without surgery: The neck reveals the age first
We treat transverse wrinkles, crepe skin and loose contours on the neck without surgery. The findings decide the method, not the other way around.
Tightening the neck and décolleté without surgery
Many people carefully care for their face for years and overlook the zone underneath. The skin on the neck is thinner, has fewer sebaceous glands and lies on soft tissue instead of bones. Therefore, it often shows changes earlier than the face, and the difference between the two becomes visible over time. At Perfect Skin Berlin, we do not treat the neck with a standard method. We have several devices and several active ingredients in-house for this zone, from focused ultrasound to radiofrequency microneedling and the MultiFRAX laser to skin boosters with amino acids, polynucleotides or nutrient complexes. The analysis will decide which of these makes sense for you.
Termin buchen
- Type of treatment
- Individual neck concept consisting of instrumental tightening, collagen build-up and skin boosters, individually or combined depending on the findings
- Duration of treatment
- Depending on the procedure, about 20 to 120 minutes per session
- Recommendation
- From a single tightening treatment once or twice a year to a cure of three to four sessions at intervals of two to four weeks
- Regeneration
- Depending on the procedure, you are immediately socially acceptable again or the skin is slightly reddened for one to two days. With injection-based procedures, small bruises are possible.
- Results
- An initial tightening effect is often directly noticeable with energy-based procedures. The actual result builds up via the formation of new collagen in the following weeks to months.
- Durability
- Depending on the procedure, about six months to two years. Because the tightening occurs in the tissue itself, the duration depends on skin aging, sun protection and lifestyle.
“On the neck, we can see very quickly how someone has lived the last decades. The skin is thinner there, it gets a lot of sun and is rarely cared for. That’s exactly why the zone is so worthwhile: If you treat the neck, you close the gap between the face and décolleté, and the overall picture becomes calmer.” Kathrin Gallus Owner, state-certified naturopath
Why the neck ages faster than the face
Three reasons lie in the skin itself. First, the skin on the neck is thinner than on the face and has fewer sebaceous glands. By nature, it retains less moisture and has a weaker protective barrier. Second, from young adulthood onward, the skin loses about one percent of its collagen per year (Shuster, Black and McVitie, 1975, British Journal of Dermatology). In thin skin, this loss becomes noticeable earlier. Third, the neck does not rest on a bony framework that supports it, but on soft tissue. Whatever firmness is lost visibly sags.
Add to that sun and posture. For decades, the neck and décolleté are exposed to the sun, yet they receive sun protection far less often than the face. Later, this shows up as discoloration, an uneven texture and fine crinkly lines. And looking down at your phone folds the neck into the same creases for many hours a day, which become etched in over time.
How to recognize a youthful neck. Aesthetic medicine has a description for this that has held up for more than forty years. Ellenbogen and Karlin (1980, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) defined five visible features, including a clearly defined jawline, a visible thyroid cartilage and an angle between chin and neck of about 105 to 120 degrees. When this angle becomes flatter and the edges blur, the neck looks fuller and softer, even though your weight has not changed. We use these features as a shared language during the analysis: they let you see for yourself what we are talking about, and you can check the result against the same points afterward.
What this means for treatment. There is no single neck treatment, which is why we work with several technologies side by side. Thin skin with fine crinkly lines needs something different than a neck where the tissue has lost its firmness. In many cases, both come together, and then we treat on two levels: first, the deeper structure is firmed, then the skin quality is built up.
- Bridge the zone between face and décolleté instead of treating only the face
- First firm the structure, then build up skin quality
- Without surgery, with little or no downtime depending on the procedure
Our procedures for neck and décolleté
We work on the neck on three levels that complement each other. Devices bring energy into the depths and strengthen the connective tissue. Skinboosters improve the quality of the thin neck skin from the inside. And care at home ensures that a result lasts a long time. Most neck concepts consist of at least two of these levels. The skin analysis shows which combination suits you.
The horizontal lines across the neck, often called “necklace lines”. They are caused by movement, posture and thinning skin.
Suitable treatments are radiofrequency microneedling and Jalupro® SuperHydro, and HIFU if there is additional laxity.
The skin has lost its tension and folds, especially where the chin meets the neck. Colloquially also known as “turkey neck”.
Suitable treatments are HIFU, collagen building with radiofrequency or a thread lift, and for more pronounced cases ThermaDAS endolifting at Perfect Skin MED.
The skin looks thin and crinkled, especially on the sides of the neck and on the décolleté.
Suitable treatments are radiofrequency microneedling, RF needling with hybrid PLLA, PhilArt or the NCTF Booster.
Discoloration, redness and an uneven texture after years of sun exposure.
Suitable treatments are the MultiFRAX® laser followed by a skin booster such as NCTF or Jalupro® SuperHydro, combined with daily sun protection.
The two visible bands that stand out in the middle of the neck. They come from the flat neck muscle, the platysma, and need their own medical assessment.
The suitable treatment is the platysma treatment with muscle relaxant: the muscle pulling the bands is relaxed in a targeted, temporary way. It is a medical treatment and takes place at Perfect Skin MED.
If the angle between chin and neck has become blunted, the lower face is part of the picture too. More about double chin treatment
Suitable treatments are listed on the page Double chin & contour with ThermaDAS endolifting, complemented by HIFU for the neck below.

Can you really tighten the neck without surgery?
In the case of mild to moderate sagging, yes. Energy-based procedures such as focused ultrasound, radio frequency or radiofrequency microneedling strengthen the tissue and stimulate the formation of new collagen, so that the neck appears firmer and the contour clearer. If the skin is very sagging and hangs in clear folds, all non-surgical procedures reach their limits. We will tell you this openly in the analysis before you decide.
Which device or booster is right for my neck?
That depends on what your findings consist of. HIFU is suitable for a flat tightening without downtime, and for slight sagging, collagen build-up with radiofrequency. Radiofrequency microneedling works against crepe skin and fine transverse wrinkles in the thickness of the skin. If the skin is thin, dry and pale, skin boosters such as Jalupro SuperHydro, PhilArt or the NCTF Booster are more effective than any device. In the case of sun damage to the décolleté, the MultiFRAX laser is the right step.
What helps against the horizontal wrinkles on the neck?
These lines are located in the skin itself and are created by movement, posture and decreasing skin density. That’s why it’s not so much tightening in depth that helps here, but building up the skin: radiofrequency microneedling densifies the dermis, skin boosters with amino acids or polynucleotides improve moisture and elasticity. We often combine both in one cure. Deeply imprinted wrinkles usually do not disappear completely, but they can be visibly reduced.
And what about the vertical strands on the neck?
These ligaments come from the platysma, the flat muscle under the skin of the neck, and are not a skin problem. They therefore need a different approach than wrinkles or sagging skin. Whether and how your strands can be treated is clarified by Tillmann Lochte, doctor of aesthetic medicine, in a personal conversation at Perfect Skin MED.
What is the difference between a skin booster and a filler?
A filler creates volume and shapes. A skin booster does not do this. It brings active ingredients into the dermis and stimulates the fibroblasts there, i.e. the cells that form collagen and elastin. The result grows out of the skin instead of lying on top, and a plumped appearance is not created. This is the right way for the neck, because the skin there needs quality and not volume.
Is the treatment painful?
That depends on the procedure. The apparatus treatments from the outside are usually well tolerated, you usually feel a feeling of warmth or tingling. For microneedling and injections, we work with anesthetic cream on request. In the days afterwards, the neck may be tense and slightly sensitive to pressure.
How long will I be out?
After HIFU and radiofrequency from the outside, you are usually socially acceptable again immediately. After radiofrequency microneedling, the skin is reddened for about 12 hours, after skin boosters you expect no to one day. Small bruises are possible after injections.
How many sessions do I need, and when will I see results?
With HIFU, one session is often enough depending on the findings, refreshed once or twice a year; results appear after about three months. For radiofrequency microneedling and skin boosters, we plan a course of two to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart. A fresher look is often visible after just a few days, while the full effect builds up over several weeks.
Can I have my neck and décolleté treated together?
Yes, and in most cases it makes sense. Both areas have the same thin skin and the same sun exposure. If only the neck is treated, the difference to the décolleté remains visible. All treatments on this page can be applied to both areas; the décolleté is planned and priced as a separate area.
How much does a neck treatment cost in Berlin?
The price depends on the treatment, the size of the area and the number of sessions. After the analysis, you receive a fixed price for your treatment plan that includes everything: consultation, treatment and follow-up appointment.
Who is the treatment not suitable for?
Caution is advised during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with acute infections or skin conditions in the treatment area, with certain blood clotting disorders and with some implants in the neck area. Very pronounced skin laxity also cannot always be treated sufficiently without surgery. In a personal consultation, we assess whether a treatment is right for you and which one.
WHO IS THE NECK TREATMENT SUITABLE FOR?
- Women and men from around 35 whose neck looks older than the well-cared-for face above it
- People with fine horizontal lines, crepey skin or thin, dry skin on the neck and décolleté
- Anyone who wants early to moderate sagging of the neck treated without surgery
- Anyone who has had a lot of sun exposure and is bothered by discoloration and an uneven texture on the décolleté
In a personal consultation, we will work out together which approach is right for your neck.
RECOVERY & DOWNTIME: QUICK FACTS
- Days 1 to 2: Depending on the procedure, the skin is red and feels tight. After HIFU and external radiofrequency, you can return to your routine right away; after microneedling, about 12 hours later. Please avoid sauna, exercise and direct sun.
- Days 3 to 7: Redness and swelling subside. After injections, small bruises may still be visible; they can be covered with makeup.
- Weeks 2 to 8: The tissue forms new collagen. The skin feels firmer, and the contour becomes more defined week by week.
- Month 3 and beyond: The result has developed. At the follow-up appointment, we decide whether another session or a second treatment step makes sense.
Neck lift in Berlin: which procedure suits which findings?
If you are looking for a non-surgical neck lift, you will quickly find a long list of device names and hardly any guidance. A more helpful question comes first: what is going on with your neck right now? A simple test gives a first indication. Gently lift the skin on the side of your neck between two fingers. If it can be pulled far away and only slowly returns, sagging is the main issue. If you mainly see fine crinkly lines, it is more about skin density and moisture. In most people, both come together, in different proportions.
Tightening: our devices at a glance
- HIFU: Focused ultrasound at depths of 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm, reaching the SMAS layer. A session takes 60 to 120 minutes; once or twice a year is recommended. Suitable if you want all-over tightening without downtime.
- Radiofrequency microneedling: Needles at a depth of 0.5 to 3.5 mm plus radiofrequency. About 90 minutes; three sessions four weeks apart are recommended. Suitable if crepey skin and horizontal lines are the main concern.
- Collagen building with radiofrequency: External radiofrequency, without needles. About 90 minutes; three treatments every two weeks are recommended. Suitable if mild sagging is to be kept in check.
- RF needling with hybrid PLLA: Needling plus a collagen stimulator made of poly-D,L-lactic acid. 60 to 90 minutes, results after four to eight weeks. Suitable if the skin is to be firmed over the long term.
- MultiFRAX Laser: Fractional laser energy with SimulScan. Suitable if sun damage and discoloration on the décolleté are bothering you.
- Thread lifting: Spiral threads form a supporting mesh in the tissue. Suitable if loose skin needs additional support.
- ThermaDAS Endolifting: Temperature-controlled radiofrequency beneath the skin, performed by a physician. Suitable if the sagging is clearly pronounced.
- Platysma treatment with muscle relaxant: Relaxes the broad, flat neck muscle in a targeted and temporary way, performed by a physician. About 15 minutes; the results last three to four months. Suitable if the vertical bands on the neck are the main concern.
Skin quality: our skin boosters at a glance
- Jalupro SuperHydro: Amino acids, peptides and hyaluronic acid. 20 to 30 minutes; a course of three sessions four weeks apart. Suitable if the skin looks dry and dull, with fine dehydration lines.
- PhilArt: Polynucleotides from salmon DNA. About 20 minutes; a course of two to three treatments during the darker months. Suitable if the skin has become thin and crinkly.
- NCTF Booster: Nutrient complex of 56 ingredients, applied with Nanosoft needles. About 30 minutes, two to four treatments. Suitable if the skin looks tired and undernourished.
- Profhilo: Hyaluronic acid to improve skin density and elasticity. Suitable if density and elasticity are the main concern.
Every procedure has its place. Which one is right for you is not decided by a wish for a particular method, but by the findings. In many cases, it is a combination anyway: first the structure, then the skin.
Neck, décolleté and the face above
A common picture in consultations: the face has been well cared for over the years, the neck has not. This creates a visible contrast, and that is exactly what others notice. That is why we never plan the neck in isolation. If the transition from chin to neck is the real issue, the lower face is part of the plan, and we have a separate page for it: Double chin and contour with ThermaDAS Endolifting. If it is about the jawline as a frame, read more under Chin line and jawline. And if the décolleté tells the same story as the neck, we treat both zones within the same concept.
What always belongs to it is care at home. The neck is almost always forgotten when applying cream, yet a treatment result lasts considerably longer when the skin is cared for daily and consistently protected from the sun. We will discuss which products from our asumi line suit your skin type at the follow-up appointment.
